Student Teaching Artifacts

As a student teacher, I created a "Dandelion Wine Unit," which centers around Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine (1957). This unit includes everything from a "Unit Overview" to a "Dandelion Wine Final Exam." (See "Plans," "Materials," and "Assessment Tools.")

Plans
Planning lessons and whole units can be a daunting task for me, but without a plan or a "road map," where would I be going?

Materials
Even though I prepared all of these materials, most of these ideas came from my cooperating teacher or the interent. (Sparks of genius are rare for me.)

Additional Artifacts

I guided my sophomores in writing persuasively. Their persuasive essays were...interesting, to say the least.

My sophomores had a lot of fun coming up with funny examples of metaphors and similes. I always encourage creativity.

I usually begin class with a writing prompt (or a "starter"). This helps students think, write, and hopefully, discover their voice. I try to make these writing prompts fun for the students. And again, I always encourage creativity.
